BOOKING
What is your cancellation policy?
Our concept site is small but mighty. With only two cabins on the property guests get a truly unique experience of solitude, but this also means that every night counts. At this point in our journey we need to uphold our cancellation policy.
+ 50% refund if you cancel at least 30 days before your stay
+ We’re unable to offer a refund if you cancel within 30 days of your stay
+ If you need to change the dates of your stay, your original booking will be cancelled according to our cancellation policy and then you’re welcome to make a new booking
+ To cancel your booking, please email our support team by replying to your booking confirmation email.
What if I need to reschedule my stay?
Any changes to your booking dates are considered a new booking and will be subject to our cancellation policy above. To modify your booking, please email our support team by replying to your booking confirmation email.
Do you have a waitlist?
We understand a connection to the outdoors is fundamental. While we don’t have a waitlist, subscribe to our newsletter to be the first to know when we open new availability.
Is there a minimum length of stay?
We have a minimum stay of two nights because we strongly believe you need at least a couple nights to unwind and really sink into the magic of the wilderness.
Can I bring my pet?
Of course! Your dog is more than welcome to soak in the wonders of the wild with you for an additional fee of $50 +HST per stay. All we ask is that you don’t leave your dog unattended in your cabin, and that you clean up after them and keep them on leash when you’re outside.
Given the small footprint of our cabins, we can only accommodate one dog per booking. At this time, we’re unable to accommodate cats.
Can I bring my child?
Finding that connection with the wild is important at any age. That being said, our cabins are specifically designed with solo travellers and couples in mind and unfortunately, are not childproofed. All guests staying in the cabin must be 18 years of age or older.
Do you have a security deposit?
We don’t collect a security deposit upfront, but we do need a credit card on file in case of incidentals. On the day of your check-in, we may run a small authorization charge to your credit card to confirm the credit card on file.
CABIN
Where are your cabins located?
The arcana concept site is less than two hours (without traffic) northwest of Toronto on naturally forested land. We’ll share the address of your cabin once your booking is confirmed.
How big are your cabins?
Our cabins are 275 square feet and are designed to sleep up to two adults. Created with our natural environment in mind, the cabin is designed with minimal yet purposeful features. The result is a serene space that feels elevated and special, but doesn’t distract from the point of your stay: time spent in the wilderness.
What’s included with my stay?
Your booking includes everything you’ll need to experience the wild. We provide fresh linens, plush towels, toiletries, running water, cooking essentials, and yes, even wifi. Outside the cabin, you have access to a private deck with a fire pit and outdoor seating (firewood included), as well as a private sauna and 15km of marked trails.
What’s inside the kitchen?
Our cabin has a fully-equipped kitchenette with a sink, mini fridge, stove, oven, and microwave. We also provide all the cooking essentials (olive oil, salt, pepper, pots, pans, knives, cutting board, scissors, can opener, spatula, spoon, tongs, ladle, whisk, oven mitts, bottle opener, dish soap, sponge, paper towel, tinfoil), as well as dishes and utensils to help you prepare meals in the cabin.
And for a little morning boost, we’ve included some complimentary, freshly roasted coffee from Good Grief Coffee Roasters (just 20 minutes from the cabin) and tea from our friends at Grow Tea Company in Collingwood, along with a hand grinder, pour over coffee maker, tea infuser, and kettle.
Do your cabins have private bathrooms and hot showers?
Your cabin is outfitted with a private indoor bathroom with a rainfall shower, sink, and flush toilet. We also provide towels, organic toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, soap, and body lotion) from Sangre de Fruta, and a hairdryer.
How private are the cabins?
All of our cabins are thoughtfully spaced out to respect your search for solitude and privacy.
Will there be wifi and cell reception at the cabin?
While we encourage you to disconnect as much as you need during your stay, we know there are times you need to stay connected. Our cabins are fully equipped with wifi, but cell reception can be limited inside the cabin, depending on your carrier.
Can I smoke in the cabin?
We have a strict no smoking policy indoors (including e-cigarettes, vaping, and cannabis) as the interior materials of the cabin are sensitive to smoke. We kindly ask that you please smoke outdoors away from any open windows or doors. Any guests who violate this policy will be charged $350 CAD.
How are the cabins secured?
Our cabins are fully secured with a digital keypad with an access code that we change between every guest.
PREPARATION
How does check-in and check-out work?
You’re welcome to check into your cabin anytime after 3pm. You’ll receive all the details you need for check-in, including the access code for your cabin two days before your stay.
Check-out is any time before 11am and all you need to do is lock the door behind you.
Can I drive right up to the cabin?
We’re committed to providing solitude at your cabin. Our designated parking areas are within a 1-2 minute walk from your car to the cabin.
What should I pack?
Storage space is limited in the cabin so we suggest packing everything into a weekender or carry-on bag. The good news is that all you really need to bring are your clothes, a sturdy pair of walking shoes (running shoes or hiking boots work well), your bathing suit and a water bottle for the sauna and cold plunge pool, and overnight essentials. Make sure to look at the local weather forecast and don’t forget sunscreen, bug spray, and raingear if it’s expected to rain.
We’ve got you covered with all the other essentials: fresh bedding, towels, toiletries (organic shampoo, conditioner, body wash, soap, and lotion from our friends at Sangre de Fruta), hairdryer, and even firewood and firestarter.
Do I need to bring my own firewood?
No need to bring your own – we’ve got you covered on firewood, firestarter, and a lighter. Just light and enjoy the sensorial experience. The only exception is when there’s a county-mandated fire ban in place. During these times, campfires are not allowed.
Should I stay on site during my stay?
We highly recommend you put the car keys away once you arrive. Research shows that it is time immersed in nature that is the antidote for stress and lowering blood pressure. While there’s nothing stopping you from leaving, we have a feeling you won’t want to.
Who else will be there?
We are currently only operating 2 cabins that are a considerable distance apart, so there will never be more than 4 people at our current site. Check in is self guided, so there’s no front desk to interact with and we offer private bookings for our shared amenities.
Wait, what am I going to eat?
We’ve partnered with award-winning Chef Shaun Edmonstone of Bruce Wine Bar to bring you a curated menu of seasonally-inspired cook-and-serve meal kits. You’ll be able to add your meal kit in advance of your stay and they’ll be waiting in the fridge when you arrive. Simply cook over the stove or fire and enjoy. Feel free to reach out with any questions.
